I am not an astrologer in the ordinary sense of that term.

I have no formal training in astrology. I have never attended an astrology school, completed a certification program, or studied under an established practitioner.

That is an asset. It is an asset in precisely the same way that approaching any new topic with a clear mind is an asset. It is an asset because traditional astrology is built on a lie and acknowledging the lie is rarely possible while surviving inside the system that created it.

I know a lot about lies.

My formal training is in immunology. I hold a PhD and spent nineteen years working for the pharmaceutical industry, producing evidence-based messaging for the doctors who prescribe their products. I was good at it. I was also, in ways I did not yet have language for, slowly dying inside it. Not metaphorically. My bodymind was expressing what my professional life required me to suppress: a growing list of chronic conditions that the biomedical model I had spent my career defending could not adequately explain, let alone resolve.

The person who changed that was Dr Brian Broom, a consultant immunologist and the author of Meaning-full Disease: How Personal Experience and Meanings Cause and Maintain Physical Illness. Brian introduced me to the idea that illness is not a malfunction. It is a communication. That the bodymind is not two systems running in parallel but one movement expressing itself through whatever channel is available. I enrolled in his postgraduate training program and completed a postgraduate diploma in MindBody Healthcare Science. In 2008, I healed my GERD without diets, drugs, or surgery. I have not needed to revisit that question since.

What Brian gave me was not a new framework. It was permission to ask a different kind of question. Not what is wrong and how do we fix it, but what is this expressing and what does it need me to recognize. That question, once genuinely asked, does not stay contained. It moves through every system you have ever trusted. Through medicine. Through therapy. Through the institutional consensus that tells you what is real and what is not, what is evidence and what is merely feeling, what deserves a peer-reviewed journal and what deserves to be burned.

The library at Alexandria was burned. The gnostics were slaughtered. Ophiuchus was removed from the sky. You can tell a great deal about what a system is trying to protect by what it cannot afford to leave standing.

That question also led me, more than twenty years ago, to consciousness-as-ground: the understanding that consciousness is not produced by matter but is the ground from which matter arises. The MindBody framework Brian gave me pointed in this direction without naming it directly. The illness that could not be separated from the story, the story that could not be separated from the meaning, and the meaning that could not be separated from the consciousness in which it arose.

These were not three things.

They were one thing, moving.

This is not a belief I arrived at through reading. It is a recognition I arrived at through living, illness, grief, and the sustained practice of asking what is actually here rather than what I have been told to expect. Twenty years of working within that ontology means that when the True Sky finally came into focus, it did not need to be built from scratch.

I came to the True Sky the way most honest things are found: sideways, through a door I was not looking for, after a life that made every other door feel wrong. Most people who come to astrology come to it looking for meaning. I already had the ontology; the substrate was there. Where astrology was the footnote, the ontology was always the text.

I came to True Sky astronoesis through the same question Brian taught me to ask, applied to the sky. When I looked at what traditional astrology was actually doing, I found the same pattern I had found in biomedicine: a system built on a foundational assumption that everyone now quietly acknowledges is wrong, maintained not because it works but because the alternatives are inconvenient to those who benefit from its continuance. The tropical zodiac has not aligned with the actual sky for approximately 2,400 years. Traditional astrologers know this. They have decided it does not matter.

I disagree.

The True Sky I practice is not a reinterpretation of traditional astrology. It claims something simpler: that the sky is the sky, that the constellations are where they are, and that the most honest reading of a human life begins by looking at what is actually present at the moment you are born. Before the administrative decisions, astrologers watched the actual sky, the actual planets, and the actual constellations. Ophiuchus was there because it was there.

The True Sky restores that directness using the most precise instruments now available: IAU constellation boundaries, topocentric calculation, real-time precession and nutation, and the philosophical delivery of a consciousness-as-ground ontology that has been the foundation of this work for more than twenty years. Every placement in a True Sky chart reflects where the celestial bodies actually were at your birth, in the actual sky, read from your actual location on Earth.

You don’t need to go to astrology school to notice their sky is not your sky. You need eyes.

My PhD does not make me an authority on the True Sky. What makes me an authority is that I arrived at it without being told what to find. I had no tradition to defend, no school of thought to represent, no certification whose value depended on the framework remaining intact. I had a life that had asked me hard enough questions for long enough that I had learned, slowly and at considerable cost, to stop performing the answers other people needed and start reading what was actually there.

What I found, when I finally looked, was my own sky. And in my own sky, my Sun sits in Ophiuchus. The constellation that was removed from the zodiac before living memory. The healer who holds the wound and the remedy in the same hands. The one the system could not afford to leave standing.

I did not choose this. It was always there. The sky knew long before I did.

That is what this blog is. Not a credential, but a record. Each essay moves through the intersection of True Sky astronoesis, consciousness-as-ground, and the meaning hidden inside chronic suffering. Subscribe below and they will arrive in your inbox on publication day.
